Floor Manager

Terrapin Crossroads is looking for a hardworking and bright individual with a passion for food, wine, and excellent service. Applicants should be driven and self-motivated, and should demonstrate excellent communication skills and possess a confident, respectful presence with guests and other staff members.

Qualified candidates must possess the following skills and attributes:
Minimum 3 years verifiable management experience in a fast paced, high-quality restaurant
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and mentor team of 30+ staff
Solid experience managing a food and beverage program
Excellent customer service skills
Flexible schedule — weekend and evening availability is a MUST
Healthy stamina for long hours and passion for hands-on service (leading by example)
Strong food and wine knowledge
Impeccable eye for detail and solid organizational skills
Computer proficiency necessary — experience with word and excel necessary (familiarity with Aloha is a big plus)

RESPONSIBILITIES (include but not limited to):
Cultivate and lead a culture of guest-focused hospitality
Develop a culture appropriate to our establishment, getting to know new guests and establishing rapport with repeat guests
Support service on the floor in an active and engaged manner
Manage the door to effectively control the flow of orders to the kitchen while balancing demands of neighbors as well as destination guests.
Assist with all aspects of the food and beverage program including ordering, inventory management, costing, staff training, and marketing.
Manage labor and beverage costs.
Assist with inventory, payroll, scheduling and coding vendor invoices as needed.
Participate with ownership to develop key initiatives and company wide strategic direction.
Team building & development of staff, including hiring and firing and assisting ownership with grievance/disciplinary issues.

3-5 years of recent upscale, fast paced restaurant management
Demonstrate quality written, verbal and in interpersonal communication skills
Ability to analyze and solve problems; efficiently handle multiple duties under pressure with minimal supervision
Positive attitude, professional manner and appearance in all situations
Adept knowledge of and passion for great food
Availability to work flexible hours as required including nights/weekends


The ideal candidate should be familiar with the latest in mixology, bar equipment, and sanitation standards, with a focus on maintaining an attractive bar and being a part of a strong team.

The Key Responsibilities:
Mixing and serving alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks to patrons of the bar and restaurant.
Mixing ingredients, such as liquor, soda, water, sugar, and bitters, to prepare cocktails and other drinks. Slice and pit fruit for garnishing drinks.
Completing drink orders using proper levels of alcohol.
Able to follow recipes and be consistent even when extremely busy.
Taking food orders from patrons at the bar.
Assisting with bar inventory.
Setup and breakdown of bar as needed
Maintaining cleanliness of bar

Ideal Qualifications:
2 years previous experience bartending at a busy restaurant preferred
TIPS certification

Cocktail Servers

Qualified candidates must possess the following:

– Experience working in a high volume cocktail bar
– Excellence in service standards and execute at the highest level
– Enthusiasm and an extremely positive attitude
– The ability to work well with a team of talented people
– Passion for the hospitality industry, cocktails and spirits
– A professional demeanor
– Knowledge of POS systems
