Terrapin Crossroads is excited to welcome back the living legend Ernest Ranglin, to the Grate Room, on Tuesday, July 3rd!
Legendary Jamaican-born guitarist and composer, Ernest Ranglin, has been wowing crowds around the world for decades with his signature style of Ska, Jazz, Mento, and Reggae. A self-styled composer and improviser, he has traveled and collaborated widely with reggae greats like – Jimmy Cliff, Bob Marley, Monty Alexander and Sly and Robbie. He moves from reggae to soul to jazz and back and nevers break a sweat.
This Ernest Ranglin show will embrace music from of his illustrious musical catalogue that celebrates his life and legacy. When you witness 86 year old Ranglin play, you will have a sense that you are truly experiencing a living legend.
Ernest will be backed by an all-star group of musicians from Marin County, ft. Jonathan Korty (Soul Ska, Vinyl) on keyboards, Angeline Saris (Zeperella, Narada Michael Waldon) on bass and Inx Herman (Hamsa Lila, Hugh Masekela, Vusi Mahasela) on drums.
